Description of the department

You will become part of the Multi Domain Systems (MDS) department that consists of 225 highly engaged colleagues, located at the two DK sites: Lystrup and Søborg, and they are expecting additional growth. Within the MDS department, they value innovation, idea- and knowledge-sharing, collaborative teamwork, and diversity. The MDS department is primarily responsible for developing mission-critical systems, including command and control solutions, radar technology, and software applications that enhance situational awareness for military and security operations. The department fosters a collaborative and innovative environment, leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as AI to enhance system capabilities.

They value a healthy work-life balance, so following the onboarding process, employees have the flexibility to work remotely for up to two days per week. However, most team members prefer to be present at the office due to the welcoming and enjoyable environment. Please note that when working on classified projects, remote work may not be possible during those specific periods.

Introduction to the position

As a System Engineer at Terma, you will play a key role in shaping the technical direction of mission-critical software applications. Your expertise in application software will be instrumental in designing, developing, and optimizing systems that ensure security and operational efficiency.

You will be responsible for providing technical leadership, defining system requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate advanced solutions. Experience with critical infrastructure and security-clearance eligibility (HEM) is required.

You will join their 8-person Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) team with other System Engineers, Software Developers, and Testers where you will support one of the following projects:

  • Systems for Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP)
  • Military intelligence software platform for the Danish Defense
  • Air defense system for the Danish Defense
  • Artificial intelligence-enabled intelligence exploitation for NATO

Responsibilities in the position

Examples of areas of responsibility:

  • Provide technical leadership and set the direction for mission-critical system development.
  • Define system architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Work closely with software developers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on technical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system specifications, requirements, and interface control documents.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and security requirements.
  • Support system validation, verification, and deployment processes

Requirements

Technical experience

  • 5 years of experience as a system engineer
  • Strong background in application software.
  • Experience with various programming languages.
  • Knowledge of designing solutions for critical infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with AI applications in software development.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Ability to lead technical teams and align software development with business needs
