Description of the department
You will become part of the Multi Domain Systems (MDS) department that consists of 225 highly engaged colleagues, located at the two DK sites: Lystrup and Søborg, and they are expecting additional growth. Within the MDS department, they value innovation, idea- and knowledge-sharing, collaborative teamwork, and diversity. The MDS department is primarily responsible for developing mission-critical systems, including command and control solutions, radar technology, and software applications that enhance situational awareness for military and security operations. The department fosters a collaborative and innovative environment, leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as AI to enhance system capabilities.
They value a healthy work-life balance, so following the onboarding process, employees have the flexibility to work remotely for up to two days per week. However, most team members prefer to be present at the office due to the welcoming and enjoyable environment. Please note that when working on classified projects, remote work may not be possible during those specific periods.
Introduction to the position
As a System Engineer at Terma, you will play a key role in shaping the technical direction of mission-critical software applications. Your As a System Engineer at Terma, you will play a key role in defining and driving the technical direction of complex, mission-critical systems. Your expertise—particularly within software—will be central to designing and optimizing scalable, secure, and reliable system solutions.
You will collaborate with developers, architects, and domain experts to translate requirements into high-performance solutions that support operational safety and national security. Prior experience in critical infrastructure and eligibility for security clearance (HEM) is advantageous.

Responsibilities in the position
Depending on your profile, your tasks may include:
- Provide technical leadership and set the direction for mission-critical system development.
- Define system architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Work closely with software developers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system specifications, requirements, and interface control documents.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and security requirements.
- Support system validation, verification, and deployment processes
Requirements
Technical experience
We imagine that you bring:
- +5 years of hands-on experience from a role where systems thinking was key—this could be within software, embedded systems, hardware, simulation, or similar.
- A solid technical foundation and an interest in working with large, complex solutions.
- The ability to collaborate across domains and contribute to a shared system understanding.
- Experience from working in agile teams is a plus.
- HEM security clearance is an advantage but not a requirement.
