About the Data Engineering Department

As part of the Data Engineering Department, you’ll join a highly skilled team focused on building and evolving the data platform, which is built upon Azure Cloud. Working with large datasets daily, the team anticipates significant growth, presenting new and exciting challenges within data engineering. Currently, the team comprises 9 Data Engineers, spanning junior to senior profiles, based primarily in Copenhagen, with flexibility for up to two days of remote work.
Operating within a hybrid of Scrum and Kanban methodologies, the team emphasizes collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation.

About the Position and Responsibilities

Banking Circle seeks a Senior Data Engineer eager to contribute to building the next generation of their data platform on Azure Cloud as a modern data lakehouse. In addition to historically focused reporting and analytics, the team aims to diversify its use cases across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with peers to build the data platform in Python.
• Design and optimize the Data Platform based on business needs.
• Provide recommendations on applying data to business problems.
• Advocate for software architecture patterns, efficient data processing, modern data integration, and solid data modeling.
• Enhance data infrastructure to improve reliability and computational efficiency.
• Analyze project requirements in collaboration with teams across the organization.
• Participate in Agile team rituals.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Azure functions, Databricks, Azure SQL, Tableau/PowerBI, dbt, Astronomer, and Terraform.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Growth mindset and willingness to try new approaches.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
