Are you an experienced IT leader with a strong background in regulated manufacturing environments? Do you thrive in leading international teams and transforming IT operations into proactive, business-embedded functions? PolyPeptide is now hiring a Head of Site IT Services to oversee and unify local IT teams across six manufacturing sites worldwide.

This is a unique opportunity to step into a global leadership role at a company that helps improve the lives and health of millions of people through high-quality peptide- and oligonucleotide-based active pharmaceutical ingredients.

About the Position

As Head of Site IT Services, you will lead a distributed team of 14 IT professionals, including two team managers, across six global manufacturing sites. You will be responsible for ensuring compliant, secure, and high-performing IT services that support pharmaceutical development and manufacturing. Your role will be key in driving standardization, compliance, and transformation – moving local IT from traditional support toward a strategic, business-oriented function.

You will work closely with both global IS/IT and local site leadership to align IT operations with business goals, fostering a collaborative and efficient IT landscape across all sites.

About the Department

The Global IS/IT department supports all PolyPeptide locations worldwide. Local IT teams are currently organized site-by-site, with central coordination and support. These teams provide services within infrastructure, production IT, lab equipment, and end-user support – areas where compliance, standardization, and business partnering are becoming increasingly important.

The department is transforming to align local teams with strategic IT goals and business needs, making this a pivotal time to join and influence the journey ahead.

Responsibilities

  • IT Leadership & Strategy: Define and implement a unified IT services strategy aligned with global and local business needs.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure consistent and compliant IT service delivery across infrastructure, manufacturing systems (e.g., MES, LIMS, SCADA), lab equipment, and user support.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Maintain GxP-compliant processes with appropriate documentation and validation.
  • Business Partnering: Collaborate closely with site leadership and global IT to ensure IT services support local operations effectively.
  • Project & Vendor Management: Lead cross-site IT projects and manage local IT vendor contracts, SLAs, and KPIs.
  • Team Leadership: Develop and support high-performing, collaborative local IT teams.

Requirements

To succeed in the role, you will have:

  • +8 years of IT experience, preferably including leadership experience within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Broad technical understanding and knowledge of IT infrastructure, equipment integration, and general IT services.
  • Understanding of IT systems in GMP environments (e.g., ERP, MES, LIMS, SCADA, CSV).
  • Experience with ITIL-based service management and project delivery.
  • Experience with transformation and helping the IT team shift from a traditional service desk role to a more strategic IT function is an advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Preferred certifications: ITIL Foundation (or higher), PMP or equivalent, GAMP 5, CSV, or other regulatory compliance training, Microsoft, Cisco, or other relevant technical certifications.
